Significance
Between 2015 and 2020, Ford produced their GT350 variant of the Mustang. It was almost universally lauded as the best driving Mustang of all time for its ability to straddle the divide between fun and comfortable on the street and highly competent on the track. So as production of the GT350 was being phased out, Ford knew that their follow-up had to live up to the legend they had created with the previous model. Debuting at the 2019 North American International Auto Show, the GT500 was the car to carry the torch as the Mustang halo car. Based around an all-new supercharged V8 called the Predator, the GT500 produced an almost unbelievable 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque which was enough to push this Mustang to over 190 miles per hour. For the first time in Mustang history, the transmission was a sophisticated 7-speed double clutch gearbox built by Tremec- offering lightning fast shifting on track and ease of use around town. Unlike previous generations of GT500, the engineering team at Ford took the lessons they learned from the GT350 and were able to make this car handle on the track. Thanks to the extreme amounts of power, they could build a car that rivals European supercars, many times more expensive than it, with ease. Revised bodywork over the GT350 gives the new car a more aggressive look and helps provide adequate cooling for the engine while also remaining slippery enough to achieve its 190 mph top speed.
About this vehicle

The most important option on these GT500s is the Carbon Fiber Track Pack- in addition to extensive visual carbon fiber on the exterior, this package also includes 20” carbon fiber wheels that reduce unsprung weight and make the car far more capable on the track. Additionally, this car has been optioned with the GT 500 Heritage package which includes a specially painted, over-the-top stripe and the Technology Package gives it a B&O 12 Speaker Stereo and Blind Spot Monitoring with cross-traffic alert. The exterior is painted in an absolutely stunning shade of silver-blue called Brittany Blue Metallic that looks great contrasted with the white stripes and all of the carbon accents.
